Free Early Education Entitlement

Picture
When the time comes to start looking at childcare and nursery options, it can be quite a shock to hear the financial side of it. Thankfully, there are some funding options that can help you with making these big decisions.
At both Smiles Day nursery Sapcote and Hinckley Parks Pre-school we offer and provide places for 2,3 and 4 year funding. These places are funded through Leicestershire County Council.

What is FEEE?
FEEE (Free Early Education Entitlement) is a government scheme that is available for children in England. It allows nurseries like ourselves, to offer funded places to children that fit the eligibility criteria. All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours of childcare per week term time.

How much of my childcare will be funded through FEEE?

there is currently 3 different types of funding that are available through the government scheme.

Your 2-year old can get 15 hours free childcare if you live in England and receive one of the following benefits:
  • Income support
  • Income based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
  • Income related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Universal credit and your household income is £16,190 a year or less before tax
  • The 'Guaranteed' element of Pension Credit
  • The Working Tax Credit 4-week run on

2-year olds can also get free childcare if they:
  • are looked after by a local authority
  • have a statement of special educational needs (SEN) or an educational health care plan (EHCP)
  • get disability living allowance
  • have left care under an adoption order, special guardianship order or a child arrangements order

Your 3 and 4-year old can get 15 hours free childcare if you live in England, from the term following their 3rd birthday.
  • Available to all families in England, regardless of income

Your 3 and 4-year old is entitled to 30 hours free childcare if you live in England and meet the following criteria:
  • You and any partner, must each expect to earn (on average) at least £152 per week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living wage).
  • If you or your partner, are on maternity, paternity or adoption leave, or you're unable to work because you are disabled or have caring responsibilities, you could still be eligible.
You can't get 30 hours free childcare if either you, or your partner, each individually expect to earn £100,000 or more.
