Valentine’s Day This week we have had lots of fun doing different valentines activities. We have been painting hearts and using stickers to make lovely cards for mummy’s and daddy’s. We also had lots of fun exploring our water and rose tuff tray. The Adventurers had a lovely week exploring our Chinese New Year and Valentines themes. W e tried traditional chinese foods, developed out hand eye co-ordination with chopsticks and enjoyed decorating with glue and glitter to make something extra special for our loved ones! We had a very wet and windy visit to the garden centre today. When we arrived we found a giant Santa waving at us. Inside the first thing we saw was an elf train. We climbed onboard and rode to the North Pole. There was so much to see and do at the garden centre including snowmen we put our heads through to pose and the singing reindeer. We also saw all the lights inside and our favourite model village.
The inventors had their own teddy bears picnic to celebrate children in need. We had sandwiches and Pom-bears we collected from the co-op. Some of our friends missed the picnic but bought their cuddly toys to nursery. One of the Inventors had requested the Bob the builder song, so Alex the forest School leader had been practicing it and played it today for the children to sing along too. The children joined in with den building and some of them used one of the tools with Alex, working on a project, which will be revealed in a few weeks time. We also had a squirrel play hide and seek with us and the children kept looking for it in the trees. The Inventors had a visit from Super star sports today.
They did some warm up exercises where they pretended to be different animals. They practiced there football skills and took part in a penalty shoot out. Yesterday the inventors went for a walk to donkey lane. Whilst there we found blackberries and cows. We were able to bring the blackberries back to nursery. After washing them we tried them and they were sweet and sour. |
