Hi Simon
I felt compelled to email you today to let you know what a fantastic team you have at Gilmorton Chandler Smiles Club.
My daughter Elsie started in reception last month and we both have found the transition to 'big' school a little daunting. She has struggled to settle at Smiles & it's been really upsetting for me to see her so unhappy. Christine and her team have really gone above and beyond to help her (and me) settle.
They have not only have they created a happy, creative & fun environment to come into but they really do care about each child's needs even creating a sticker chart to reward 'being brave & not getting upset' ,when Elsie wasn't eating asking me what they could make for her that she would enjoy or any favourite foods they could bring in for her.
The activities they create are not only engaging but tailored to what each of the children enjoy doing, it's clear that so much thought & planning goes into these activities that it clearly isn't 'just a job' for the whole team. This week she has been so much happier and has come home full of all the fun they've had creating their own board games, painting and the new friends she's made. I used an after school club at another school for our eldest child and I have to say it wasn't a patch on the set up you have at Gilmorton. So thank you for the great set up you have, you should be very proud of the team you have at Gilmorton as they really have not only settled Elsie but have supported me, leaving me able to work safe in the knowledge my daughter is being cared for in such a fantastic environment. Each and every one of the team is brilliant. Keep up the good work!
Kind regards
Sarah Elliott.
